About me
Hello, stranger 👋, nice to meet you! I'm Dom, a UX/UI/service/product designer and lead, digital solutions strategist, plain language trainer, occasional developer, workshop facilitator, expert in accessibility, mentor, lecturer, author. Soon, maybe AI safety researcher.
In any case, I'm very greedy, hopping between things like a monkey on a jungle vine, so it's hard to explain what I do.
Old times
I started as a web developer and designer around 2000. I designed and built dozens of small and medium sites and web apps.
Accessibility is my jam. In early 2000, I got my hands dirty in accessibility, initiated WCAG 2.0 translation to Polish. I trained thousands (yeah) of people, several professional auditors, devs, and editors; was a prime ministry advisor; helped make hundreds of websites and apps more accessible; and wrote manuals.
Current time
Currently, I work as a product designer with a solid grasp of technology. I figure out digital product features, create UIs, tinker a lot with AI, and vibe code. But this time is not far from being over now.
I've been into AI stuff occasionally for 30+ years, where my thoughts were getting back to artificial brains, robots, artificial life, automations, chatbots (in their poor algorithmic days ☺️). When ChatGPT appeared first, I started my self-development in prompt and context engineering and gained traction to become a proficient user.
But I did not stop with me becoming a AI fluent designer, and an AI developer (back to coding, yay!), agent's boss, and some sort of AI coach and occasional specialist. Now, I have multiple agentic frameworks working on my local and VPS servers and become an LLM connoisseur.
All this time… not so suddenly — this germinated in me for years already — I understood the risks.
Probably future times
AI safety awareness started with an overwhelming fear about AI explosion's consequences for social fabric. The fear stayed, but I moved to action. I started to learn more about AI safety, about the risks. I have strong opinions.
My next stop in digital reality is now focused on two areas:
- Learning AI safety testing methodology and maybe even working professionally in this domain.
- Helping individuals and small local businesses in the redefinition of their work-related identity.
